Goodbye, music festival season, it’s been charming!

Music festival season is now coming to a close which is terribly sad but worry not; the style that is equated with this time of year lives on! We still have time to channel our inner hippy-child and wear our all-time favourite summer style: maxi-anything. Whether it’s a skirt, dress or a tunic, we love the maxi style. It is easy and effortless. Jean Machine had some of our must-haves this year and we are not ashamed to say that we have been living in these things. Don’t judge us, we’re in love.

Here are some of the ones we’ve seen at Toronto’s hottest music festivals and are sure to see until the weather no longer permits them:

Disclaimer: All the following items must be envisioned with a typical flower headband to capture the essence of music-festival style 😉

1. Do you have my back?: This RIPE maxi dress with back cut-out is so sexy and can be dressed up or down. With a pair of gladiator sandals and big sunnies (like true lovechild) OR heels and a statement necklace. A dress so nice, you can style it twice (or more)!

2. Join our style-tribe: We, like many, have a soft-spot for tribal print. This BENVIED skirt added so much colour that we couldn’t help ourselves. You can wear it with a neutral tank like black or white or pick up any of the hues that are in the print.

3. It may be neutral, but it’s not narrow: You always need to have one neutral skirt so you can play it up with a fun shirt or accessories. This solid blue jersey maxi skirt will do the trick. What we love is that these fold-over maxis can be unfolded and pulled up to be a midi-length dress. Score!

4. I’m with the “band”: If you’re wearing a loose-fitting, low-cut tank top in true music-festival-enthusiast style, then chances are you were wearing one of these brightly-coloured bandeaux.

5. Looking minty-fresh: Denim shorts are getting a touch of summer love with these mint batik shorts. Paired with a loose white shirt and a straw fedora…the ladies rocking these looked feminine but festival-fierce.
