Healthy Lentil Soup Recipe With ShaSha Co.’s Bio Buds
August 8, 2013
Here at Charming Media, we believe in living life to the fullest and summer is just the time to do it. With vacations, lavish international travel and a crazy (but always charming) work schedule, it’s no wonder when the summer fun starts to show with a few extra lbs showing up on the scale.
We decided to be proactive and make a motion to eat better, which is really easy to do with ShaSha Co. products. Our latest favourite are the lentils, with sprouted grain energy. This versatile product can be used in countless recipes.
What’s so great about sprouted products? Unlike lentils you will find in a can at the grocery store, ShaSha co.’s lentils are a jam packed with minerals, vitamins, amino acids and enzymes that assist in nutrient absorption. In addition, these little lentils can help to detoxify and cleanse the body.
If you feel your body could use an injection of nutrients, protein, enzymes and electrolytes (in other words, a healthy hug for your insides) test out this yummy chicken lentil recipe using ShaSha Co. lentils:
Ingredients:
1 carton of unsalted chicken broth
1 chicken breast (optional)
1 zuccini
1 carrot
1 half of a small onion
2 garlic cloves
3 sticks of celery
Rice noodles (optional)
2 Bay leaves
Instructions:
1-Cook chicken breast and slice into small pieces
2-Precook half a cup of ShaSha Co.’s lentils (as per instructions on bag)
3-Slice veggies
4-Sautee zucchini until soft
5-Put broth in large soup pan and bring to boil
6-Add all ingredients and reduce heat
7-Allow to simmer for 25 minutes
Now this is the bare bare bare basics. This recipe has absolutely no additives or spices or salt. We encourage you to spice to taste. We prefer a bowl of this deliciousness with a swirl of hot sauce to keep things spicy 🙂
Enjoy!
Extra Benefits of Sprouted Grains: (as per the ShaSha Co. website)
- They help digestion. Crucial enzymes break down complex carbohydrates, proteins and lipids, helping us maximize the nutrients we get from food.
- They boost immunity. Antioxidants protect our cells by combating free radicals, stimulating immunity and slowing cell aging.
- They are bio-available. Sprouting releases absorbable minerals, creating a high quality food with nutrients our bodies can actually use.
- They contain fewer allergens. Sprouting breaks down gluten, which many people have trouble digesting.
