Press Release: Turkish Airlines Canada’s Social Media Campaign Success

On July 29th to August 3rd, Charming Media hosted a media trip to Istanbul with client, Turkish Airlines Canada.

Over the course of the the five day period, the #TOtoTurkey hashtag received nearly 5.5 million views on Twitter.

TORONTO, Aug. 20, 2013 /CNW/ – On July 29th to August 3rd, Turkish Airlines Canada selected six Canadian bloggers and editors and hosted a five-day trip to Istanbul, Turkey from Toronto. Attendees represented a mixture of both traditional and online publications with editors from ELLE Canada, Travel and Escape, Toronto Standard, KENTON Magazine and two bloggers, all with large social media followings.

The trip was the first of its kind within the Turkish Airlines.

As Turkish Airlines, we truly believe that the web and social media play an intricate role as to how people view a brand, as well as how experiences with a brand are conveyed to the masses. This group amazingly documented their entire trip using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and blogs” – Tarkan Ince, Director of Turkish Airlines Canada.

Guests were asked to use the #TOtoTurkey hashtag throughout the trip. The hashtag received nearly 5.5 million impressions on Twitter between the dates of July 28th-August 4th.
